Ⅰ. 서론
1.1. 연구배경 및 목적
본 실험에서는 시험편의 충격저항을 시험하는데 있다. 시편을 충격으로 파단 시켜 파단 될 때 까지 흡수된 에너지의 많고 적음으로써 재료의 인성(toughness) 및 취성(brittleness)를 판정하기 위한 것이다. 이러한 인성과 취성의 정도를 판정하는 이유는 각종의 기계류, 기관 등의 파손은 정적하중의 경우는 드물고, 대개는 잡다한 진동이 수반되는 하중이 되풀이 된 후에 갑자기 받은 충격에 의한 것이다. 그러므로 재료가 그 사용 온도에서 인성을 가지는가 혹은 취성이 있는가를 조사하고 천이온도를 조사해두는 것은 매우 중요한 일이다. 충격시험이 중요한 것은 이 때문이며, 그 주목적은 연성 파괴에 관한 현상을 규명하는데 있다.
